Oceana Restaurant & Bistro

Perched above the aquamarine waters of the Baye de Grigri with open-air seating, Oceana Restaurant & Bistro offers a window to paradise. Originally the estate of Jurgen Iversen, St. Thomas’ first Danish governor from 1672 to 1679, the property also served as the Russian Embassy in the late 1800s. Today, sailboat scenes and elegant seafood dishes like pan-seared diver scallops and roasted mahi-mahi are the restaurant’s hallmarks.

Isla Blue

An island boho-chic vibe and soothing ocean views are signatures of Isla Blue on St. Thomas. Pearl chandeliers and crisp white tabletops are a striking contrast to the cobalt-blue waters of Morningstar Bay. The creative island cuisine, including fresh seafood, features fresh local fruits and herbs. And a temperature-controlled wine room holds an expansive selection of wines.

Caroline’s

On St. Croix, the blush-hued Caroline’s showcases a stylish Caribbean aesthetic, with tropical leaf wallpaper and gold accents. The restaurant boasts large windows, revealing a dreamy postcard view of historic Christiansted and the oceanfront that wraps around it. Caroline’s is known for its classic breakfast and brunch dishes, like crepes and eggs Benedict, along with fruity mimosas.

The Mermaid

Situated under a shady veranda outfitted with rattan furniture, The Mermaid on St. Croix offers breezy vistas of sea ripples and swaying palm trees. There’s also beach seating, with front-row views of the Monday night fire dancer show. The lunch menu features burgers, mahi tacos and catch-of-the-day sandwiches, while the dinner menu includes entrees like Creole chicken, shrimp skewers and the beef tenderloin.

Eat With Fred

Barefoot chic is the dress code at Eat With Fred, where guests dine under cinnamon-striped umbrellas and strung twinkling lights that overlook the ocean. Situated on the western shore of St. Croix, Eat With Fred boasts legendary sunset views, as well as seasonal island flavors. Popular dishes include ceviche and beer-battered freshly caught fish.

Pizza Pi VI

Tucked into Christmas Cove — a protected bay near the private island of Great Saint James off St. Thomas — Pizza Pi VI is a floating pizzeria, accessible only by boat. The translucent waters, coral reef and vibrant marine life make it a prized location for snorkeling, as well as an unusual setting in which to enjoy New York-style pizza. The founders of Pizza Pi VI spent two years building their custom vessel, and attended pizza school in New York City to perfect their pies. Pizza Pi VI serves 16-inch pizzas (including traditional pepperoni and porcini mushroom with a white sauce base), as well as cocktails and frozen drinks, to be enjoyed on your boat.

Lovango Resort & Beach Club

Hop on a 10-minute ferry ride from St. John or St. Thomas to experience Lovango Resort & Beach Club. Located on a private island paradise overlooking Caneel Bay, Lovango is picture perfect, with sugar sand and water fringed by sea grape trees. ZoZo’s at Caneel Bay

Jaw-dropping views from an expansive open-air terrace are ZoZo’s at Caneel Bay’s calling card. The changing colors of the sea — from turquoise to cobalt to sapphire — glisten just a stone’s throw away from your table. Located on Caneel Bay with glimpses of neighboring islands, the restaurant is a beloved St. John fixture. The four-course menu changes weekly, but options often include king salmon and osso buco.
