St. John Wedding Tips

  • Weddings on St. John generally range from about a few hundred dollars for simple elopements to $40,000+ for all-inclusive events with guests. Popular beach packages start as low as $475–$1,545 for just the couple, while receptions with planners, food and music often cost $600–$750 per guest.

  • Submit a marriage application online at least eight days before the ceremony to the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands at www.vicourts.org. Travel to the USVI with your government-issued ID, such as a passport, plus original or certified copies of your birth certificates. (Also bring certificates of death or divorce if you were previously married.) The cost is a $100 application fee plus a $100 license fee, payable by check, money order or cash. A judge will perform the ceremony for $400. You can also visit in person from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, but the cashier is only open until 3 p.m.

  • Although venues and services typically cost more during high season from December through April, it’s also the dry season, offering the most consistent weather with low rain and humidity. The shoulder season of April through May has great weather, slightly lower prices and better venue availability.
