ST. THOMAS

Once the original shopping district for the capital city, Charlotte Amalie’s Main Street is St. Thomas’ premier destination for shoppers. Stroll the bustling cobblestone main boulevard, lined with luxury shop windows displaying fine jewelry, watches and perfumes. Be sure to meander into the many passages and alleyways where you’ll find stylish, smaller boutiques.

In the port of Little Krum Bay in Charlotte Amalie West, the open-air Crown Bay Center‘s shops and kiosks sell everything from colorful swimwear to spices and handcrafted leather sandals. The mall’s courtyard, centered around a picturesque stone windmill, often hosts live music.

Browse upscale The Shops at Yacht Haven Grande, an outdoor mall situated along a picturesque, mega yacht-filled marina. Shop for a handsewn sundress at Nicci’s Boutique, island-inspired, natural fragrances at Luxe Perfume, and hand-carved bowls from Jolly’s Roots and Culture. Enjoy fresh sushi, Indian cuisine or local bites at one of the mall’s swanky waterfront bistros. Or settle in for a manicure, pedicure, facial or massage at one of the many on-site spas.

If you’re looking for one-of-a-kind souvenirs, Tillett Gardens — a flower-filled, winding outdoor mall on the east end of St. Thomas — features vendors selling handcrafted jewelry, pottery, silk screened fabrics, hand-dipped candles and more. The artisans at this hub for local artists and performers often craft their wares on-site. Tillett Gardens is also home to the Pistarckle Theater, a community theater group that stages plays and musicals throughout the year.

ST. CROIX

Peruse locally crafted goods on display in the many gift shops and galleries along Strand, King and Queen streets, between Custom House and King Cross streets, in historic Frederiksted. Shop for the ultimate souvenir from St. Croix — a hook bracelet, the Crucian symbol of love — at one of the many handcrafted jewelry shops.

Christiansted, the largest city on the island of St. Croix, boasts a vibrant shopping and arts scene. Soak in the views and the fresh sea air as you stroll the shops and pop-up vendors that line the Christiansted Boardwalk. Browse the colorful boutiques and galleries on Company and Kings Wharf streets. Peek into the Apothecary Hall Museum for a glimpse into a historic, 19th-century island pharmacy.

Frederiksted Market Square in St. Croix features arts and crafts by local artisans. Peruse woven baskets, soaps and lotions made with Caribbean-sourced essential oils, and jewelry made from conch shells and sea glass.

ST. JOHN

When you’re not relaxing on one of St. John’s picture-perfect beaches or hiking its scenic trails, check out palm tree-filled Mongoose Junction. You’ll find unique fashion boutiques, gift shops, art galleries and cafes — like the Bajo El Sol Gallery, a hybrid art gallery, bookstore and rum bar — and Golden Hour, a wellness apothecary filled with handcrafted soaps, lotions and fragrances.

In the heart of Cruz Bay, The Marketplace is a shopping and dining destination. Starfish Market sells gourmet spices, local spirits and other goodies. The Chelsea Drugstore offers sundries and necessities. Enjoy lunch or a snack at one of the many cute cafes and explore the mall’s locally owned boutiques, art galleries and gift shops.

From bright T-shirts featuring island designs to colorful, handwoven scarves and handmade wooden pirate swords, there’s something for everyone at Wharfside Village. Many of the open-air mall’s bars host happy hours and live music as the sun sets on St. John.
