ST. CROIX

Hit the dance floor at Dazzled STX, a lively cabaret and nightclub where St. Croix swings to the beat of live salsa, reggaeton and bachata. Free dance lessons kick off most evenings, then the colorfully lit floor is open to anyone who wants to boogie the night away. Plan on making new friends on the dance floor at this upbeat, friendly venue. Or catch live performances that include mesmerizing fire dancers. Fuel the fun with handcrafted cocktails and Caribbean cuisine, served in an enchanting courtyard on historic Company Street.

Common Cents Pub pairs pub grub — wings, quesadillas, and fish and chips — with live music, karaoke and dancing in a chill, delightfully air-conditioned space in downtown Christiansted. Catch the latest game on the big screens, test your wits with a round of trivia or enjoy a round of drinks on the alfresco patio. While beer is the focus here, the menu also features wine and cocktails, including a blueberry old-fashioned and a creamy coconut margarita.

Enjoy live music, craft beer and upscale pub fare (like Caribbean-style tacos) on the Christiansted Boardwalk at Brew STX, St. Croix’s only restaurant and microbrewery. The two-level, open-air venue is best known for its handcrafted brews sold by the pint or pitcher. Made by the in-house microbrewery, the craft beer pairs perfectly with the panoramic view of the harbor. Take home your favorite microbrew in a custom growler.

Nightlife reigns supreme at St. Croix’s two casinos. Caravelle Hotel & Casino in downtown Christiansted, the only casino on the islands that offers live-action table games and hot slots, also hosts free calypso, jazz and reggae concerts on its harborside stage. At the beachside Divi Carina Bay Casino, test your luck with classic table games such as blackjack, roulette, craps, three-card poker or Mississippi stud. Then, dance the night away to live music under the stars.

st. john

Dip your toes in the sand and cure your ills with a world-famous Painkiller — a fruity cocktail mixed with pineapple and orange juices, cream of coconut and a punch of rum — at The Beach Bar. St. John’s landmark beach bum-style bar is located just steps from the ferry dock. Locals and tourists gather here for live music and beautiful sunsets every night.

You might spot a celebrity at Woody’s Seafood Saloon, a rooftop bar in the heart of Cruz Bay where stars such as county singer Kenny Chesney have been sighted. Come for specialty drinks, the hopping happy hour and casual island fare — think conch fritters and crab cake sliders. Stay into the wee hours of the night for the live music and laid-back vibe. You can find the Key to Paradise here, too, though it won’t open any doors. It’s a potent shot of creamy Key lime, banana and coconut rums that will have you up and dancing to the island beat.

Kick back after a day on the water at Drink St. John, a beachfront bar boasting sweeping views of Cruz Bay. Cocktails made with freshly squeezed island fruit juices are the specialty here. Try the St. John Spritz, a refreshing blend of prosecco, aperol, club soda and limeade. Or choose from over six specialty Bushwhackers, like the delectable peanut butter version.

The Parrot Club pairs craft cocktails with blackjack, poker, keno and roulette. Voted Best Entertainment Center by the Virgin Islands Daily News readers poll every year since its 2008 grand opening, it’s an excellent venue for meeting locals and tourists alike. After you hit the jackpot, settle into the club’s beachside bar for mojitos and margaritas.

st. Thomas

The Tap & Still is a casual sports bar serving gourmet burgers and local handcrafted beers from Rock City Brewing Co. Cheer on your favorite teams at one of their St. Thomas locations in Red Hook and Havensight, or at the Cruz Bay outpost on St. John. The friendly venue hosts a variety of special events throughout the year, including concerts by local acts, themed parties and karaoke nights.

The waterfront Rum Island Pub is perhaps best known for its Sunday Funday, when football fans file in for the boozy island drinks and big-screen TVs. But pop in any day of the week for live music, sports, beer pong, cornhole, trivia nights and more at this local favorite near Drake’s Passage.

Swap a barstool for a swing at the Rum Hut, a colorful tiki bar located steps away from the cruise port. Locals and tourists alike flock here for the relaxed, friendly vibe. Brick oven-baked pizza, wings, local beer and frozen cocktails make the Rum Hut a happy hour hot spot. Try one of their rum flights to sample the most popular spirits of the islands, comparing their unique flavor profiles.

On St. Thomas’ eclectic East End, pull up to Duffy’s Love Shack, a casual “parking lot” bar where you’ll always find upbeat music and good cheer. Try colorful, handcrafted cocktails like the Wacky Pineapple, Funky Monkey and Booty Call, all served in tiki glasses with fun garnishes. The longtime bartenders will make you feel at home, hence the bar’s love shack moniker. On Margarita Madness Mondays, Duffy’s specialty margaritas are served in unique cocktail shakers you can keep as a souvenir.
