St. John Coffee Shops for a Morning Boost
Rise and shine with a cup of morning joe from one of St. John’s favorite coffee shops. From downtown spots in bustling Cruz Bay to a waterfront cafe with scenic Coral Harbor views, we’ll guide you to the best places to start your day with a little extra boost that includes homemade breakfast treats.
Downtown Sips
Grab a cup of coffee in the morning, and a glass of wine later in the day, at Downtown Sips. This combination coffee shop and wine bar offers hot and iced coffees, plus specialty teas like the Ashwaganda Chai (made with a blend of herbs and roots), for a morning pick-me-up. At dinnertime, sip an espresso martini or a glass of wine from the carefully curated wine list. Side your drink with a sweet or savory house-baked good, like the chocolate chip-banana bread.
St. John Provisions
Open since 2017, the woman-owned St. John Provisions is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. The cold brew iced hazelnut is popular, or try the Carnival specialty coffee (featuring chocolate, peanut butter and banana). Or start the day with a smoothie like the Tropical Paradise, blended with mango, pineapple, banana and coconut. Be sure to order a hand-cut donut or a homemade bagel with cream cheese and lox.
Love City Cafe
The cheery Love City Cafe is located in laid-back Coral Bay, right across the road from the turquoise waters of Coral Harbor — grab a table outside to soak in the spectacular Caribbean Sea view. The extensive drink menu at this St. John coffee shop has a variety of coffees and teas, including the locally loved Bush Tea, as well as fruit smoothies. Breakfast and lunch items range from fresh-baked muffins and breakfast sandwiches to beef or veggie pates and a pulled pork sandwich. Lunch and breakfast picnic baskets are available with 24-hour notice, and can include house-made sangria or mimosas.
Giovanni Gelato & Coffee Shop
Get a cup of joe and a creamy scoop of gelato at Giovanni Gelato & Coffee Shop in Cruz Bay. Located on the first floor of The Marketplace, Giovanni pours coffee drinks like lattes and espresso. Breakfast bites include buttery chocolate croissants. Treat yourself to a scoop of authentic gelato (the owner hails from Italy), in daily changing flavors such as pistachio and mango. Be sure to check out the colorful paintings by Giovanni’s wife, Katia, that are sold at the shop.
