Dinghy’s Beach Bar & Grill

Hop on a ferry or charter a boat and cruise over to Water Island, the smallest USVI island. Step onto the powdery-white sand of Honeymoon Beach and you’ll quickly spy the thatched-roof hut that houses Dinghy’s Beach Bar & Grill. Grab a seat under one of the aqua umbrellas for food service or head directly to the bar for drinks. Dinghy’s serves up appetizers and a signature catch-of-the-day sandwich, as well as dreamy views of the beach lined with palm trees and calm waves. Hammocks, games that include horseshoes, cornhole and darts, and nightly live music are all free. If you’re feeling active, Dinghy’s rents kayaks, paddleboards and snorkel gear.

The Dive Bar

A secluded little spot perched at Compass Point Marina, The Dive Bar is a local favorite that offers unforgettable vistas of St. Thomas’ beachfront, surrounded by lush hills. The bar is cash-only and features a small menu of burgers, sushi, craft beers and creatively named drinks like the Menage a Trois. Yacht and catamaran crews usually hang at this bar, but the laid-back vibe is welcoming to all. The bartender serves the drinks, cooks the food and offers lively conversation, so plan on sticking around to hear lively stories about the island.

Sapphire Beach Bar

Located on the eastern tip of St. Thomas, Sapphire Beach Bar offers unparalleled views of the sparkling Caribbean Sea, with St. John visible in the distance. Cradled by sea grape trees for shade and a coral reef for snorkeling, this is a great beach for relaxing and swimming. Sapphire Beach Bar sells sandwiches and appetizers like coconut shrimp, along with fruity cocktails that include the Guava Freeze. Live music on Sundays often turns into a beach party.

Rhythms at Rainbow Beach

Surrounded by lush rainforest and mountain peaks, Rhythms at Rainbow Beach is one of the most popular beach bars in St. Croix, for both the scenery and its welcoming vibe. Decked out with blue-and-green awnings that match the water, the eatery is also one of the best spots on the island to watch sunsets. The extensive cocktail menu offers signature sips like Lime in De Coconut and Cruzan Confusion (mixed with six Cruzan rums). The casual fare includes tacos, burgers and fried shrimp.

Spratnet Beach Bar

The extensive menu features sandwiches, wraps, seafood and spring rolls. Spratnet is known for serving Papa Juana, the whiskey version of Mama Juana, a spiced rum cocktail.

Off The Wall

Grab a seat at one of the colorful picnic tables to soak in a magical sunset as the backdrop to the turquoise water and green hills. Overlooking Cane Bay, Off The Wall is famous for its spectacular views, along with delicious pizza and calzones. Boasting an extensive beach bar menu, selections include breakfast items, salads, handhelds, meal baskets and every kind of cocktail. The Beach Bar also features live bands almost every night, creating the best island beach vibes.

Skinny Legs

Housed in a rustic wooden shack in the middle of a Coral Harbor boatyard, Skinny Legs has been a St. John staple for decades. Filled with funky decor and relaxed charm, the bar is famous for not having blenders or fryers. All drinks are hand-shaken and the grilled burgers are considered to be among the best on the island. The welcoming atmosphere also features live music, horseshoe tournaments, regattas and rowdy sports fans.

Salty Mongoose Pizza & Rum Beach Bar
