TRAVEL & TRANSPORTATION

St. John is two-thirds national forest, but that doesn’t mean it’s difficult to get around this natural beauty. Board a helicopter, water taxi, small charter plane or commercial airplane to jet from island to island, and there’s no passport required for U.S. citizens. With accommodations ranging from resorts and hotels to eco-tents and campgrounds, you can revel in natural splendor or indulge in a lavish romantic getaway. St. John also believes that everyone deserves to enjoy paradise, and the island offers many ADA-accessible beaches, including the blue flag-rated Trunk Bay — one of the Caribbean’s most beloved beaches.

CAR RENTAL

Whether renting a vehicle or simply crossing a street, it is vital to remember that you must drive on the left side of the road. Speed limits are 15-20 mph in the country and 10 mph in town, unless otherwise posted.
