U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism Celebrates a Successful Run for Fun Cruise Event

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands (March 4, 2024)— The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism celebrates successfully hosting the Run for Fun Cruise® in St. Thomas on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

 

As the final stop on an eight-day cruise aboard the Norwegian Viva, the Department of Tourism staff, led by Deputy Commissioner Rosie Farrington, welcomed hundreds of runners to the shores of St. Thomas for a day of fun, celebration of wellness, and exploration of the island.

 

“We want to thank the Run for Fun organization for bringing such an amazing event to the U.S. Virgin Islands,” shares Deputy Commissioner Farrington. “The Department of Tourism and the people of St. Thomas look forward to hosting this fun event every year and look forward to continued collaboration in the future.”

 

To kick off the event, the Run for Fun Cruise® organization presented a donation to the Nana Baby Children’s Home.

 

The Department of Tourism staff shared water along the 5K route and rallied runners to the finish line with cultural dancers and musical motivation from a DJ. Following the race, participants received fresh local fruit and gift bags, which included USVI-branded swag.
