Food, Arts and Crafts Fair

A highlight of the Crucian Christmas Carnival is the Food, Arts and Crafts Fair, which honors the great cooks who carry the tradition of making native Crucian cultural dishes. People wait anxiously for this day to get the food, drinks and desserts they remember their grandmother and mother making. Come and taste a sample of everything! The Fair is situated around the Eliza McBean Clock Tower amidst the blissful ambiance of the Frederiksted waterfront, with the Caribbean Sea as a beautiful and ever-changing backdrop. Vendors wearing native dress sell their wares from under the shade of colorful tents and kiosks while steel pan or Quelbe bands play in the background. Jump Up, which is held four times each year, is a "carnival like" cultural party held in the streets and along the boardwalk of Christiansted. It has become one of the islands favorite social events for both locals and visitors alike. It is sponsored by the CRRA (Christiansted Restaurant & Retail Association).
 
The streets are closed down and the party begins at 6 p.m. and goes until about 10 p.m. Stores and restaurants in town stay open late, offering special discounts. You will also find many vendors on the streets, offering food and drink, arts and crafts, fine hand-crafted jewelry and much more.

St. Croix Agriculture and Food Fair 2014

Every February, St. Croix hosts the largest agricultural festival in the Territory. The St. Croix Agricultural Fair, or AgriFest, is a colorful display of locally produced agricultural products, livestock, arts and crafts and native cuisine. Taking place over three days, festival goers can taste, touch and see everything to do with St. Croix agriculture.
 
The fair is held at the Rudolph Shulterbrandt Agricultural Complex in Estate Lower Love. There is a small admission fee to enter, but well worth it! Once inside the fair grounds, you can make your way though vendors selling a variety of goods and locally made products that are hard to find at other times during the year.

The Good Hope Country Day School 25th Annual Caribbean Fine Art Exhibit

The event is billed as "St. Croix's most established and prestigious annual gathering of Caribbean artists." This claim would be hard to contest, as the exhibit features the largest local artists showing under one roof. One can find original artwork pieces, as well as prints, note cards, clothing, posters and jewelry. All artwork is for sale at the free event and a portion of the proceeds benefit The Good Hope Country Day School scholarship fund.

The 43rd Annual University of the Virgin Islands Orchid Show showcases many beautiful and rare orchids. The Orchid Society of St. Croix strives to exhibit orchids at least once a year to the public to promote interest in this hobby and preserve native plants.

Krewe de Croix Mardi Croix Parade

Each year, usually on the Saturday before Fat Tuesday, Cane Bay, on the scenic north shore of the island, is transformed into a big, colorful party called Krewe de Croix Mardi Croix Parade! This is St. Croix's version of Mardi Gras. You can arrive early and get breakfast at one of the waterfront restaurants and then join in the revelry as the parade marches through. The parade travels from La Valle along the coast to Cane Bay. You will find food and drink vendors all along the parade path in Cane Bay along with vendors selling local arts and crafts. Be sure to try some of the local food!

Art in the Garden is an annual event hosted by St. George Village Botanical Garden. A fun, modern spin on a traditional Garden Party, Art in the Garden is a two-day affair that takes place each March. The event kicks off with a Champagne Artists' Reception. This first event features framed local art for sale, a lively Garden Party Hat Contest, hors d'ouevres, displays by the Bonsai, Hibiscus, and Orchid Societies, as well as the Art in Bloom! exhibit and auction.

The St. Croix Food & Wine Experience, named one of the Ten Best International Food and Wine Festivals by Forbes Travel, showcases the diverse cuisine and wine available on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Jump Up

Jump Up, which is held four times each year, is a "carnival like" cultural party held in the streets and along the boardwalk of Christiansted. It has become one of the island's favorite social events for both locals and visitors alike and is sponsored by the CRRA (Christiansted  Restaurant & Retail Association).
 
The streets are closed down and the party begins at 6 p.m. and goes until about 10 p.m. Stores and restaurants in town stay open late, offering special discounts. You will also find many vendors on the streets, offering food and drink, arts and crafts, fine hand-crafted jewelry and much more.
